Since a few months I’ve been part of an exciting new musical project that has been taking form, and now has a name: THE LAVA TONES!

The Lava Tones are comprised of guitarist vocalist songwriter Fitzo (from London), Dave Lindsay “The Teacher” (from Melbourne) on the saxophone/harmonica and I (from Paris/USA…) play the bass + sometimes xylophone/melodica + anything I could put into my hands…

It’s a project of 3 friends, who like to get together in order to have a good time around a few good beers and glasses of wine, and yeah why not, play some music together…

The result, largely crafted around Fitzo’s great skills at songwriting, is a curious & magical blend of pop, jazz, alt country, bossanova, you name it…

Band bookers, looking for a curious entertaining eccentric easy listening band???: please don’t hesitate to book us for any gigs around Melbourne, or include us in a line-up

Bookings from November onwards.

Hi folks,

Today is history: I have been working since 2004 on a relaxed side-project called VERTIGO OBSERVER with my friend and great musicien Noxize, aka Flesh is the Fever, from Paris.

He is more a techno, drum & bass oriented, I am more a pop/prog rock freak, but we have learned to work together and enjoyed confronting our different musical universes.

The result is VERTIGO OBSERVER, which is a colourful patchwork of these influences, melodic, beat & hypnotic catchy experimentations which we hope you will appreciate.

The reason why it took us 4 years to write 4 songs (that’s what I call productive…) is partly due to the distance, Noxize being in Paris while I am here in Melbourne, Australia.

That’s why I consider these 4 tracks real little gems considering these difficult conditions.

So please enjoy at www.myspace.com/vertigoobserver.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time I haven’t given any news.

I haven’t been giving any gigs lately, for the good reason that I have decided to concentrate my musical endeavors in recording (in June) a short Demo CD 5 tracks which I hope will reflect the sound I have in concert, which is basically the acoustic guitar + some effects and my voice. I will be helped here (in Melbourne) in this task by Cameron McKenzie who is a great musician & a great sound engineer with a great sound (Horsehead, Mark Seymour – Hunters & Collectors, The Androids, Belle Roscoe).

Another news is that I’m now a member of BMI, which is a US based P.R.O. (Performance Rights Organization)

And finally, I was doing some archiving lately and found what I believe are some interesting first takes of 2 songs which can be found on my 12 track CD self-recorded CD “Tim Chesley” (2006).

Please find below a link to listen to these songs (“Croire au Bonheur – 2003”, mixed by Alain Parmentier + “Newport – 2003” recently mixed by Thibaud Guichardan), I would be interested in getting your comments if any!
